“I’m surprised you still have people willing to help you with your reputation,” I teased, kissing his cheek.

“Beauty, you are still young enough to underestimate everyone and everything. Not everyone believes everything they hear or read, especially in the world of the warriors.” He opened the door, turned on the lights to the large dining hall and began showing me around.

“I resent that remark. I may be young compared to you, you have to be at least as old as my dad, maybe older, but I am known among my peers as one that is wise beyond my years.”

He laughed, closing the door behind us as we began heading up the large, spiral staircase that I guessed led us to his bedroom. “Your peers are barely out of diapers.”

“Well, if that were true,” I began as we reached the top of the stone staircase, poking him in the chest with my finger to make my point, “that would make you a major pervert.”

He tossed his beautiful golden head back, chuckling. “I’ve been called much worse.” He wagged his eyebrows at me.

“Of that, I have no doubt.” I looked around him and into the room.

It was filled with mahogany furnishings with the largest piece of furniture being the giant bed that filled most of the room. Walking past him, I took in the pure masculinity of the space that suited him so well. Making my way to the large, oversized window, I opened the shutters and the view took my breath away. We were literally inside the mountain and that afforded us a fabulous view of everything. I could even see the small waterfall that fed the stream not far from here.

Nyoka came up behind me, wrapping his arms around my waist as he nuzzled my cheek. “Do you like it?”

“Like isn’t even the correct word for the emotion I am feeling at this moment, enchanted is more an appropriate description. I can’t believe how lovely this place is. Of all the places I have ever been, this has to be the most picturesque of them all. The work I could get done in a place like this, with all the space it affords, is unfathomable.” I turned in his arms, beaming with excitement from all the possibilities that were forming inside my brain.

“If it would keep that look on your face, beauty, I would give you the world.” I could see in his eyes and through our bond that he meant every word.

“I don’t need the world, but I would love to turn this compound into a scientific research center. It has all the space and scenery with all the fresh air; it would be a fantastic rehabilitation facility.” I gave him a saccharine smile.

The jovial expression left his face as he took my face in his rough hands. “It’s yours. Anything and everything I have is yours. Just give me a little time to patch things up with Eli and the sky is the limit for us.”
